It's come to that time where I need to consider either purchasing a made to spec or to build myself a new pc rig. My old MSI KT266a, Athlon XP 1900+, 1024mb ram, and GF4 4400 128mb based system is starting to feel it's age now.

What or who are the best retailers to buy my components from here within the United Kingdom? I am located about half an hour outside London but would probably purchase online. Who are the best companies out there for products, price, and customer service?

:D Was about to post "Currys'' and ''Dixons'' - just to tease. ;)

I am in the same situation Athlon XP 1800 on a unbelievable MX200 graphics card.

Seriously considering a Rock Notebook Desktop replacement as there is some seriously powerfull kit
available now. Rock Direct 'give' a 3 years insurance backed RTB warranty which pips Evesham.
But that aside the latters equivalent/s beat Rock (only just) for value and performance. (And they have local stores)
Looking at Dell and Fujitsu Simons too. Latter has some good deals
(less the monitor) plus cheapish service. Former seem to have slipped a little value-wise.

But with Xmas costs cant see me talking a unit down this side of the New Year. :damn: :arrgh!:

:D But you forgot to add PC World to your list. :-j

That Rock Direct mob seem to specialise in Notebooks. I'm looking to build a powerhouse desktop rig for home. I'm wondering what peoples experiences have been in terms of purchasing from online vendors. So basically I would like to buy the components myself or find a company that will build exactly to my specs here within the UK.

I bought around 3000€ stuffs from them. Reliable guys. Once they forgot the send camera case to me. On my mail, they send it and they didn't charge for the DHL delivery service.

Don't get fujitsu siemens ever.

Oh I bought my eMachines from PC world 9 months ago and all is well.

PC worlds components and pcs are fine, just their customer service and staff are rubbish.
