Im playing Wolves at War, (VIIC U422) sent Bdu message:

0920 03JULY1942

RADIO REPORT RECIEVED ENEMY LARGE CONVOY GRID AM17, COURSE ESE, SPEED 7 KTS.

REQUESTING PERMISSION TO LEAVE OUR PATROL AREA AND PURSUE CONVOY.

INTERCEPT AND ATTACK EASTBOUND ENEMY CONVOY. BE ADVISED YOU ARE NOT TO PERSUE CONVOY INTO GRID AM5. ALSO BE ADVISED OF HIGHTENED ENEMY AIR ACTIVITY. AIR ACTIVITY MAY PRECLUDE MULTIPLE ATTACKS AND DAYLIGHT SURFACED REPOSITIONING.

REPORT ESTIMATED TIME AND DISTANCE TO INTERCEPT ENEMY CONVOY.

What does FDU mean when they say "REPORT ESTIMATED TIME AND DISTANCE TO INTERCEPT ENEMY CONVOY" ?

Is it how long it will take me to get to within convoy reach ready for attack? I have ask the navigator but all he does is stare at me...Shell shock.... I hope!

He wants to know how far the convoy is away and how long it takes you to get into an attack position.

I don't think BdU needs to know how far away the convoy is, that's not as important as when you think you'll get in attack position.

Could be to inform other boats near by (if any that are close)

WAW tries to give that realism factor.

I should be somewhat safe from that breed of person here in Oklahoma, but it's the rednecks that I'm worried about. If I showed up in public wearing this thing, I'd be more worried about getting beaten on than hit on.
