I might sound like I'm complaining, but I'm not. SHIII has to be my all time favorite Sim.
One of the things which I'd like to see is the ships counter flooding to avoid serious listing to port or starboard. I haven't noticed anything like that yet.
Another thing I'd like to see is a ship being towed after losing it's engines or props. Well that's after the so called threats have gone in the area. It's a bit strange to leave a crippled warship sitting around with no power or steering.
Cheers,
Lee

It would be nice to have all that in the game, but yes, you are really asking for too much... ;)

Don't know about counter flooding but I've hit numerous merchants that I would have bet money they were going under only to find them gradually straighten up and get slowly under way after hours of sitting badly listing, on fire etc. Mostly C2's & 3's & the two large tankers if memory serves correct.
I've read other posts on this so i'm not hallucinating.

I think it would be possible with the next subsim. If IL-2 can model tug aircraft towing gliders at hundreds of miles an hour, a naval combat sim can definitely model the same thing being done at 4-5 kts. It would be interesting to have factors like target value, level of damage, and distance from land affect the spawn probability of salvage vessels. Then again, THAT might be the really complicated part...

I don't think it's an issue if they could model it. I think it was an issue of, "did it happen often enough to put it in the game?" . Something that rarely happened in the war probably wasn't on their top list of things to do. Also, from reading stuff about what orders convoys were given, they were told to just keep on going .. rather let one sink than risk all the others. Of course Sh3 isn't perfect in that regard, apparently the DD's will give up after a given amount of time instead of say stick with a BB till it has time to repair then escort it back to the convoy it's part of.
No game can be perfect :(
I just gota say this game keeps amazing me every patrol, soo much more fun than the other sub games i've played.
