I think it's freakin' nonsense. Leave the big stuff to the Americans and British. It simply doesn't fit in the Dutch picture.

[This is Sixpack talking about granny state Holland]

This is Tycho giving a link to an article about said missile program. (http://www2.rnw.nl/rnw/en/currentaffairs/region/netherlands/ned041126?view=Standard&version=1) :ping: :rotfl:

"I think he wants to use Tomahawk cruise missiles because he wants the Netherlands to play a more important role if it comes to an international crisis. The cruise missiles are going to promote this because they are to be used at an earlier stage of war or any conflict. And he has even said that, in some cases, that might even be without UN authorisation, and that's why we are so very much opposed to the Netherlands buying cruise missiles."

:hmm:

What are they planning to use those missiles against?

Unless I'm wrong, Tomahawks are not intercontinental, but have some "limited" range instead....

I say: Germans, start trembling if Holland does not win the Soccer World Cup 2006 :-j

I wonder what platforms they want to deploy the Tomahawks on, subs or ships or both?

Finland is going to purchase the Storm Shadow or the JASMM for its F-18s to create an air to ground ability. :|\ http://www.aerospaceweb.org/question/weapons/q0120.shtml
