On the second of September, the U-52 left Kiel with a fresh crew, bound for the North Atlantic. All aboard, sailors as officers, were eager to be sent on their mission to help defend their motherland! Leutnant z. S. Henning Stärch only finished his training a month ago, and was happy to be among the boats sent out before the war broke out!

Henning is a firm believer in engaging the enemy correctly, and will only sink merchants after having forced the crew into the lifeboats! Warships, of course, will not be alerted when it is time for being buried below.

They sailed from Kiel at as early an hour as possible, and arrived about a day later on their friendly visit to the Norwegian port of Kristiansand. There, all feet touched land for the last time in about a month! The local women were of course not untouched, but the local pubs were the most affected. However, a (nearly) sober and neat crew ventured onwards the day after. This was mostly due to the war having been declared.

It is reported that the U-52 sunk a Canadian merchant outside Norwegian territory a day or two after leaving Kristiandsand.
We wish them the best of luck! :arrgh!:
