Hi guys,

I am still a newbee in this game. Maybe you can help me ?
I have 3 questions.

1 st. When I engage an enemy ship my deckcrew starts shooting on it with the deck gun. I have not given the order to do that.
How can I stop this.. is pretty annoying and it takes the surprise away.

2 nd. Is it possible to have only docked ships in the harbour.
I know about harbour traffic but that is to heavy for my machine.

3. When I save after a patrol. And end the game. My new mission is always in Grid AM19. if I go to the harbour and start a new mission without ending the game. I do get a new grid.
What's happening here ?

Thanks....

As for number one...
If you "Engage" while on the surface, you will man your deck gun and they will open fire. To bypass this, respond with "maintain" and manually man the deck gun. Then they should not shoot until you go to your binoculars and lock in the target.

You can also tell the deck gun crew to hold fire by using your WO icon, going to the deck gun icon and choosing the hand icon.

1. Upon visual contact with an enemy ship you will get a message that says "Ship Spotted".

You then have 3 options:

1. Engage target
2. Continue with current orders
3. Dive to periscope depth

If you hit option 1 your gun is manned and the crew will open fire.
The other two options should not result in them firing.

If this is a bug of some sort simply click on your Watch Officer and choose the Deck Gun icon. One option there is "Cease Fire". Your gun crew should stop firing if you click it.

2. You must be using either IUB or RUB to get that much harbour traffic. You cannot set the ships to just be docked, unless you are a modder of some sort. I suggest you simply use an unmodded version of SH3...very little traffic then.

3. If you have finnished the mission and saved, when you reload your career you should have two saves in Port. One which is "In base after mission" (this means you have just finnished your last mission) and one which is "In base before mission" (this means you have distributed medals etc and are about to go on your next mission). If you want a different patrol grid load up the first one I mentioned. You will have to redistribute medals and redo any upgrades etc, but you should get a new patrol grid.

Good luck.
