Where to find Destroyer Escorts??

Where can you find DEs? I have yet to run across these... Armed trawlers, corvettes and destroyers I have encountered, but never River class escorts or other DEs.

I ran into one on a patrol...it was in 1943. So perhaps their frequency depends on the year, the type of convoy, etc.

Yeah, 1943 and with convoys is where you start to see them more than you'd care for. Can't remember if I've ever seen them alone. They're rather pesky, too, something between normal destroyers and corvettes.
