Hi again,
Running the latest IUB with the latest SH Commander. Have had two CTD's when on imminent intercept of a Task Force in the North Atlantic. The game has not crashed with convoys or any other type of encounter. I guess something is wrong in the game files for these warships that I am about to meet? Anyone suffering anything similar?

Have you got any mods besides Cmdr?

Have you tried to update all of your drivers?
If that doesnt work you might try to do a clean reinstall.

I once had a similar problem with Clemson class destroyer, while attacking a convoy. Restarted the computer. Problem solved. Don“t know what was the dilemma but what ever it was never had it since.

This is exactly the kind of post that scares me. I haven't yet installed any of these cool sounding mods.
However, I am on the verge of trying maybe the IUB and maybe SH Commander. Avon Lady pummeled me with a great 'chicken' in another post so I'm going to have to 'go for it'.
But still, this is exactly what I'm afraid of. Dang!

Why are you scared? Its just a game and it can be re-installed. Just back up your saves and remember your configuration and go for it. Its definately worth it. THe game unmodded is like a joke compared tro what has been achieved with the mod community's efforts. And SH3 Commander and IUB are essentially the best of the best of all the mods. I've not had any trouble with the mods. Its not like a game crash is gonna fry your motherboard

Thanks for the butt-kick, P_Funk.
My hold-up has been due to all the problems I had since I first bought the game and tried to install it. From the ".cab" file that wouldn't work to the endless "Blue Screens of Death", CTD's, and flat refusals to install. Now that all that is behind me (hopefully), I'm so thankful to be playing the game in any fashion that the thought of going back to all the problems has been holding me off. But I've heard from so many people saying I'm hindering the real experience that I'm just about to 'do the deed', probably this weekend when I get off work.
I really do appreciate the encouragement P_Funk. Honestly.
