View Full Version : When to cruise the Caribbean?
Greetings, Kaleuns!
I have recently launched my first career in a Type IX, and I was wondering - when can you expect any successes in the Caribbean?
U-124 is currently enroute to its assigned patrol area, January 1941. After completing my assigned 24 hour patrol, I am interested in blockading Sydney NS or heading for sunnier climes.

Not till after the US joins the war (December 1941), if you care about losing renown for sinking neutral ships, at least as far as big successes - I suppose you might find some British ships there even before that, since they did have some colonial possessions down that way, but the big payoff will be US tankers and such after Dec 1941

BdU will send you there when the Reich needs you there!

No convoys there. Move to east a couple of grids (EC53). Things should start to happen :)

Rather not. I've moved to east (sightseeing Curacao), then to west, return to east, to west...etc, etc :x
...and nothing, nothing... :shifty:

Go ahead, try it. Either you've completely lucked out or going a bit off the routes, cause I've caught my absolute best tonnage in this area. Or maybe it's some mod that lowers single merch traffic? Then I can't help. You'd also check out EC 11 & EC12. If there's nothing, try just north of Port of Spain, though it's rather more dangerous in there. Weird.

ED is very nice in 42/43, inside the ring of islands. If you wait about in the middle, one single T3 or T2 will come by every day on a kind of trade route... you sink it, a Catalina appears, you kill the plane & wait until tomorrow. :)

Another boring patrol: 02.1943-05.1943, patrol grid GR83 (south-west of Capetown)... :nope:
