View Full Version : U-boat Leather coats and trousers available!
I just found this place on the web that sells U-boat leather coats and trousers. Check it out - the U-boat items are the last four items on the page:
http://www.totls.com/LEATHER%20%20JACKETS%20OF%20THE%20THIRD%20REICH.ht m
I don't know anything about this company. I was just doing one of my periodical searches and I ran across them. The jackets and trousers look pretty good to my eye, and I have a fairly good eye for realism. One thing to note: apparently, the black leather style was used in WW1, although I'm pretty sure some of the WW1 stuff was worn in WW2.

Is it really stylish to be dressing up as a Nazi?

Cool stuff! Thanks, Beery!

Not to me it isn't, but a period Naval Coat or Flight Jacket from any service is just too cool!
For Kriegsmarine caps, I suggest this place:
http://www.lynx.net.uk/epicmilitaria/products.asp?recnumber=183
This is a reproduction cap which is in my opinion better than the alternative redone East German caps that can be found.
As for the 'Nazi' issue, I don't think it's fair to characterize the Kriegsmarine as 'nazi'. The Kriegsmarine was not a nazi organization, and it retained its own non-political identity throughout the nazi administration of Germany. The Kriegsmarine even refused the nazi's order to fire officers of Jewish descent. The commander of the Bismarck, Admiral Lutjens, was part-Jewish, as was at least one of his officers.
For more about Jewish soldiers under the nazis, check out:

Personally I think it would be in poor taste dressing up as a Nazi. With that said not every one in the Reichswehr of Germany which means not everyone in the Kriegsmarine were Nazis in fact most of Reichswehr were not Nazis and did not agree with policies of the Nazis.
Now if we're are talking about the Waffen-SS well then we're talking about Nazis.
:hmm: But this thread is about raincoats?!?!?!
<EDIT> Guess I'm a slow typer Beery beat me to the punch. Damn this silly thing called "work!" Well that and looking up the proper spelling of Reichswehr :rotfl:

Yeah it's supposed to sail out of the bunker at Brest into the Atlantic and after fighting off several air attacks while moving thru BF12, submerge, then the hydrophone operator yells " Kontact kriegshiff kommt nahe! "
Just watch it for a while longer.
Anyway, I love your sig. :D
One more thing:
Can I pause the game when I'm putting on my rain gear or to keep it realistic do I have to let the game run? :rotfl:

You may say what you want about the Nazies, but those guys knew how to dress. One can't help but question the sexual orientation of their clothes designers :)

An example of a uboat commander who was not afraid to stand by his convictions (and the only uboat commander to be executed for "defeatism"):

Yeah. Executed for cowardice simply because he refused to be a coward. The nazis were/are scum, every last one of them.

Not wanting to hijack Beery's thread, but a few other related links of interest:
For uniforms of all nationalities and periods try http://www.replicaters.com/index.html The WWII Kriegsmarine page is specifically at: http://www.replicaters.com/ww2germannavy.html The Reefer jackets look quite cool...
All your medal/badge/document tastes are catered for at: http://www.soldat.com/
I can only drool as my wife won't let me buy any "nazi" stuff despite my protestations to the contrary (she doesn't see the difference)... I might have to show her this thread!

Hmmm...that's what she keeps telling me...
Well, at least you shouldn't tell them otherwise...
Yes, oddly her concern extends only to the obviously "visual" things like medals and uniforms. She doesn't seem to mind all the German WWII reference books that I have clearly on display, hakenkreuz and all... :hmm:
