Put up a huge Christmas display and drive around handing out christmas carols on handbills. When the city council orders your arrest sue them for infringing on your right to free speech.

Firstly on the subject of the piggybanks. Those people calling for such bans are out of touch with Muslim people in Great Britain. My family and friends have spoken about this and we all agree it is a load of PC bullsh@t. Neither myself nor my friends could give a toss about banks and piggybanks. It's an old tradition.

Secondly regarding AL's "Go outside and have a pint" link. Again I say that this is out of touch with British Muslims. If British Muslims were really so offended or felt threatened by caffes/restaurants serving alchohol outside or on the terraces then they would be locking themselves indoors 24/7. Anyone who has been to the UK would know that from the prevalence of pubs, bars, and foody places that serve alchohol to compliment food.

Do Brits HAVE the right to freedom of speech? Well, obviously every human "has" the right, but can they exercise it without fear of punishment?

And the United States (http://www.boston.com/ae/media/articles/2005/11/01/islamic_society_expands_libel_suit/), for that matter.

As for England, read carefully (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/4075442.stm).

There's also Australia (http://www.heraldsun.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,5478,15708881%255E25717,00.html).

And Italy (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/4576663.stm).

And on and on it goes.

A quick search and this LMAO...

He's waiting for the right moment. He's hoarding loose change. When the time is right, he'll spring, and hell will break loose.

Beware the evil pig . . . coming to get you.

In Finland a firm makes driving obstacles like this one. http://www.lemminkainen.fi/productcard.asp?Section=8421&Item=9985 The city of Vantaa was going to use them but some muslims protested to the city council so they were removed.

There's a show on ABC here called Media Watch, which devotes itself to uncovering shoddy journalism. It turns out that a story about banning piggy banks - which almost all Australian newspapers carried - is total bollocks.

http://www.abc.net.au/mediawatch/transcripts/s1494636.htm

Unless someone posts a source that directly quotes a bank employee saying they have banned piggy banks, I'm not believing it for a second. This kind of sensational story makes editors salivate, so much so that they are willing to forego basic fact checking.

Just a little addition to that not to take all things seriously.
Basically nothing has happened with that trial, AFAIK they haven't been sent to prison, they got off.

Also, the article refered is not a news article, just a perspectives write up by a journalist who has a right wing leaning.

(I know cause he has a column in every sunday paper, and on the next page is a column written by a left leaning columnist. And they only has write-ups in the perspective/letters to the editor parts of the papers) ie the article isn't a genuine newsworthy piece, just his opinion.

Excellent call. But that fiction came on the tale of this case (http://www.expressandstar.com/articles/news/es/article_81881.php). Fortunately, someone said enough's enough.

Lovely. The whole trial is absurd! And they were found guilty - with penalties to be assessed next year!

Right wing leaning?!?!?!? :o Quick - cover your eyes! Rush the children out of the room!

Just ask Holland (http://www2.rnw.nl/rnw/en/currentaffairs/region/netherlands/ned051102?view=Standard).It's sad but true that there is some form of self-censorship in Holland. Some columnists withdrew from the public debate after the Theo van Gogh murder and subsequent threats. Others can now claim personal protection.
The film 'Submission' - about the position of Muslim women - can not be shown again because the producer is threatened. However, Ayaan Hirshi Ali, an ex-Muslim Member of Parliament, who made the movie with Theo van Gogh and has since 24/7 protection, is working on a sequel 'Submission II' about the submissiveness of men towards Islam and its preachers and has announced plans for a new remake of 'Submission (I)', both with anonimous casts and producers.

I think I've been taken the wrong way, I was only stating that the article linked was something people should take as gospel.

And that he was a conservative person as opposed to a liberal.

If you don't care, then why mention it? Do you agree or disgaree? Is it faulty or does it hit the nail on the head?

What's the take of "middle" people like yourself on this case and its potential impact on your freedoms as well? Or does "middle" mean "complacent"? :hmm:
