View Full Version : ATI 9800 Pro Settings
Would anybody like to share their 9800 Pro Video card settings with me? Drivers, AA & AF settings, Settings under the 3d tab. etc.
I am looking to gain a few FPS to see if it helps my IUB performance.
System: P4 2.8, 9800 Pro (128 Meg), 1 Gig ram
Any other performance suggestions welcome!
Well, a 9800 pro should be enough, but...
The first thing to go should be AA - the next lowest setting to "Off" is best.
AF doesn't seem to take so much power, but I'd put it on a mid-range setting.
The Omega drivers (omegadrivers.net) are probably the best for ATI cards.

Hmmmmmm....
While I'm not running the 1UB mod (just a score of graphics mods ans SH3 Commander) but I have the exact same specs. With AF set to 16 and FSAA at 2x, I get 35-45 fps even with a fair amount of on-screen activity at sea. (In base before shoving off, it drops to 20-25, but one obviously spends little time there. ;-) ) Still, oRGY is right: chuck FSAA if you want more fps. Also, try disabling V-sync; I have it enabled; although the 'tearing' isn't too bad most of the time.
Hope this is of some help.

Hi Beerme... recently i gain a lot of FPS just upgrading to Catalyst 5.10, did you tryed them ?
No improvement noted between 5.7, 5.8 and 5.9, but after install 5.10 a good improvement noted.
I use the small version of the drivers, 25.3 Mb, those which do not require to have Microsoft Frame Works installed.
Good luck !
