Hello gentlemen,
Now that the wrangling over gender is over just wondering if I am alone in this one? Using the new IUB and I like it lots. Envy you people to bits who can alter these programmes - geniuses all! Anyway I have had the same weather type in the North Sea and North Atlantic for the whole of Feb 1940 and now into mid March 1940. The weather is:
Calm
Precipitation None
Fog None
Wind Speed 5kts
Direction 0
Surely this can't be right? Has the random and season expected weather gone with the IUB programme? Before adding this mod the weather in the same months was foul and although hard to play in I would love to have it back. Any help boys?

You are encountering total good luck. I'd say live it up while you can, because when the storms come back, you're gonna wish you didn't bring that upon yourself...

I also haven't seen a cloud in a couple of months of game play since I installed IUB 1.01

Hello Andrea-Jayne
One thing that affects the weather is if you have done any saves and then restarted the game from that save
Im not sure, but it seems like the weather randomizer sort of restarts from "0" after a save.
If that's not the problem, a clean install will do good. I have always had good weather randomizing after a clean install. :sunny:

Aye, the weather clock resets after loading each save, that's a fact. The weather usually changes after 2 days or so, though I've seen it change after a day or even 3 days too. Apparently, high TC affects this somehow also , can't remember in what way exactly. If it really starts to bug you, just cruise until some weather factor changes and save but keep going without exiting. If the weather still doesn't suit you after the next change, save again but go and reload the earlier save. That usually works.
Hmphm, some people have all the luck: I've been in a 12m/s- 15m/s storm now for a third week in a row, without saving & exiting in the middle. Getting a bit annoying.
Yup, you're just experiencing the beloved SH3 weather state reset after reload bug.
As others have said, the only "fix" is to sail around for at least 2 days without saving and reloading.
I wonder if in a future version of IuB we should set the change weather timer to 1 day instead of two though? The only thing is then weather could be a bit too all over the place.
Would have been better if the SH3 game read the weather from an historical database, but what you can you do?

Really! I have never noticed this bug at all....in fact, I was just in a storm from Oct 31, 1939 until Nov 10, 1939....
But if oRGy is saying it's a bug, it must be a bug.......but I know I've never had 2 solid months of nice weather!

moderates waters and clouds with thunderstorm.
overcast and calm waters.
finish with a nice sunny day. :sunny:
saving with one, two and three days,
So you guys mean that, if I load a saved game when in storm, the storm will continue?
I had a 2 week storm period, I saved, continued the next day and BAM the weather calmed totally in next "in-game" day...

Until today (i.e. Oct14, 1942) and say my first huge taskforce, I had bad weather for more than 6 months of the year.
So you guys mean that, if I load a saved game when in storm, the storm will continue?
I had a 2 week storm period, I saved, continued the next day and BAM the weather calmed totally in next "in-game" day...
You can save in a 'transition' period as well, which negates the bug. But there's no telling when this is exactly except after the event.

Enroute to a raid on Southend Harbor we encountered a week of pure glass seas; the U-49 was flying through the water.
Suddenly a savage storm brewed and visibility was nill. We hadn't seen such massive waves and lightening since March-April of '39 North of the Shetlands where we were pounded for weeks on end. We welcomed the dense cover and dashed our way into the sleepy British docks where we unleshed holy hell upon a buffet of large cargo ships and tankers in their moorings. The massive fire and explosions illuminating the buildings, rain and fog was quite a sight.
Extreme weather is your friend.

 Man when ever I am sent to the flow I am being thrown all about by the rough seas.
I have the wave speed set to 2 and am using Sub Commander
