This is a bit crazy, but coming from http://www.stratfor.com/services/stratfor-advantage.php it's got a bit more reliability to it.

Anyway, as some of you might remember a bit, there was a terror attack in small russian city, Nalchik, couple of weeks ago. Terrorists attacked police buildings, and special services. There was may be 50-300 of them, on details, there's more news to be read in different place. Anyway, the whole thing was stopped on the same day, with small number of casulties, mainly from police enforcement agensies. It got a little mentioning on the western media.

Well, this forecasting STRATFOR company published a report (i've read a russian transcript) that analyzed what happened. Basically their diduction is as following:

Basayev aimed to have Nalchik as some sort of diversion for main operation: sieze about few airplanes (cargo, civilian, doesn't matter) and use them as bombs.. Target list. Wait for it. A nuclear powerplant, a huge railroad station, a hydro plant, and as the articles says 'most importantly' (not to me) - the Kremlin. This would cause something similar to 9/11 in US (IMHO - 100 times worse) and they'd have achieved some ****ed up aim of theirs which probably even they don't know since alll of those low life scumbags are drugged out murderers and rapists and deserve to be shot without trial.

The problem was that the military intelligence (yes, the one that's so incompetent since they are russians) has actually learned about this and managed to divert the whole thing and neutralize the terrorist cells. the ones that were left had to fight pretty much in diversion place only.

Why that SOB basayev isn't caught - speculate all you want, I don't know, it's same story with Binladen. But the bottom line is how fekin scary is all of this if true...

Anyway, the whole thing was stopped on the same day, with small number of casulties, mainly from police enforcement agensies.
Specifically, a total of 24 police officers and 12 civilians were murdered in the attack. More than 70 Islamic terrorists were killed.
It got a little mentioning on the western media.
The mass media buried the story, so as not to besmirch the good name of multi-culturalism (http://www.suntimes.com/output/steyn/cst-edt-steyn16.html).

I had the similar figure in mind AL, but didn't have the report in hand. IN compared to what was planned that was a small number, but on human level - every life is the same and 1 dead is same as 20.

And the way that these murders and disgusting drug addicts are called rebels? Murdrers that rape and beat up women and put them on heroin and voila - a woman suicide bomber - are called freedom fighters? Those who use children as shields and trade people into slavery, cut off their heads, deserve humane treatment?

. Let's see them call people bombing Madrid and London 'rebels' and 'militants'. F8cking hyppocrats in bruxxels and such living by double standards and won't ever bother with anything till it hits them directly. And than there are the pointless 10000000 marches with candles (they are not pointless, but become so as soon as media jumps in and tells us the 'human story'), and the next day it's the same crap in the parliament on human rights abuse and captured terrorists should have civil rights. Right. And Iraq if a free country.
