View Full Version : open .oggs and save audio to .oggs?

I'm trying to find out a few simple things here....

How does one open and save to .oggs?

For example, some modders have changed the SH3 stock score. What prog was used? (I know... "an ogg compiler" but which one specifically?) How was that done?

I want to open and convert to other formats ogg files. How?!

I want to save custom audio files to ogg format. How?

--------
---------
Does anyone know anyone who knows how to eliminate the _red_ crosshairs from the _deck gun_ view (non zoomed)?

A nice freeware converter (to .ogg format) is 'dbpowerAMP Music Converter'. The homepage is:
http://www.dbpoweramp.com/

After testing a couple other converters, dbpowerAMP worked best, with an option to keep original file properties while converting to .ogg format. It'll convert a batch of many type formats all at once too.

Edit: Oops. and a nice freeware music 'player' for .ogg files (and many more formats) is XMPlay, at:

http://www.un4seen.com/

To download at this site, there's a tiny 'download' symbol right at the top of the page.

For removing the red crosshairs with the deckgun, I have no idea. I think modders had talked about this with the binoculars too.

Thanks for the links.

Yeah, the secret for eliminating those red cross hairs from the deck gun is not jumping out and biting me. I saw some menu entries that looked promising but I would predict (given that I know my luck) they won't pan out. And I don't want to open and close my install over and over figuring it out if this wheel has already been invented.

That non zoomed view form the deck gun is one of the best in the sim IMO. The cross hairs aren't really neccessary (given that one will look through the finder('zoom')), so the hairs just screw up the shot.

The binocular's yellow cross hairs which are a little more neccessary are simple to remove:

----
binocular yellow crosshair removed

open the menu_1024_768.ini file, search for [G27 I12] (the viewport thingy) and change the whole thing to only this:

[G27 I12]
Name=Viewport
Type=1030;Static bmp
ItemID=0x27000001
ParentID=0x27000000

---
No known side effects.

I don't know the author's name.

Oh. Meant to tell you, Avg Joe...

Good job with the 'explosion delay at distance' mod. Very few combat sims do this very important realism thing. That is bad.
