Is common in Nvidia those things. If the previous version drivers worked well to you, return to them and wait for the next drivers release/or improvement.

Despite that, I allways buy Nvidia. I'm very pleased with them.

....and let us all know what your findings are!

Same here. And it's a shame because it got rid of some annoying artifacts that had been popping up on the navmap and in the sky. Another unwanted side effect is that running a movie on Windows Media Player causes a system freeze up. Just found these problems in the last two days.

can anyone recommend what drivers to use with a 6800? I am getting a new rig and want to know which ones to use as I am not familiar with Nvidea these days (have an ATI 9600 in this rig).

Thanks

I have the Geforce 7800GTX, and I also get the grey textures on crew members with 81.85. I uninstalled the 81.85 and reinstalled my old 78.01 WHQL drivers which seem to work fine with SH3 and all other games I have.

like Sik1977 and Hartmann I also still use the 77.xx driver (never change a running system). I have no need to upgrade, since the spray issue ist gone with the 77 release.

No problem with this driver.

I have 6600GT...installed these drivers few weeks ago,the 78.11 from Forceware http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=1162 best drivers i found so far..makes Operation Flashpoint run sweet and if it can do that they must be great(not because of the gfx quality...just its "uniqueness?*!*?!")...no probs with SH3 either...check the discussion forum for these at guru3d..all the 6600GT users and most the 6800 are good with them.Regards.(it says they for laptops but that not the case...i run desktop,Athlon2500+XP,1gbDDR RAM, 6600GT).

78.01 drivers work fine for me also. 81.85 gives me greyed out guys and pipes/valves too.

Also have the same problems. It's amazing - do the Nvidia people actually test the drivers at all before releasing them?

And they still haven't fixed the no sun glare bug, either.

Yeah I have also noticed that while looking through my binoculars the sun is just a while circle without any glare etc. even with the 78.01 drivers. Thats not the case with my Mobility Radeon 9700 which doesn't seem to suffer from any such graphical issues/glitches.
