Just installed RUb for the first time and I'm impressed!

But what happened to the ship icons on the map? Have they been....removed? Not sure how to identify the nationality anymore. Another problem I'm experiencing with this is when I'm firing torpedos manually, with the TDC off. Can't pinpoint the position of the ship (without doing geometry calculations) and drawing it there myself. Is this right, or do I have some kind of bug?

Nope, that's pretty much the way it is. It's very difficult to get a fireing solution manually, but can be much more rewarding for us math geeks. :D

If you installed RuB 1.43, then you will not find single ship contacts on the F5 navigation map,as they have been removed.

If you installed RuB 1.44, these single ship contact marks are present again.

I just changed to 1.44 - much better, even if we don't know whose side they are on, I prefer to rely on the crew to put those marks on the map!! But what about the radio reports? They should still be there and we should know who they are and where they were last seen heading...

I installed RuB1.44. I still get the radio reports with all the info like heading, speed, and time or report?!?! Just no tails on the contact. But like the other post said. That's easy enough to figure out.

And the only way to find out what side they are on is to get close enough to see the flag. I've snuck up on a few German merchant ships in my short career thus far. By sneaking up I mean positioning myself (which as you know can take some time), opening up my tubes and then seeing that damn flag. I immediately surface and probably scare the bajeezes out of the crew of the ship. But it serves them right for being there and wasting our time! :)
