CTD on hitting the same escort - a bug?

Ok, in my career I'm approaching this "task force" which turns out to be a convoy with 1 clemson in it. I can successfully take out the lead escort, but no matter where I sink this clemson, the game always crashes! :damn:

Any thoughts? Just restart the mission and hope that clemson isn't there? Or... ?

I gave up!!

So I restarted the mission, and did not go after that specific convoy (or task force as the gmae called it). Luckily 3 other "task forces" show up, and I was able to rack up like 65K tonnage.

So to that game glitch I say - GOOD DAY SIR!

went round the front of the convoy bagged a t3 tanker, then the clemenson turned up again, falke from stern tube again, hit again, ctd again, did notiice that all the escorts seem to be running with their weather decks nearly awash

yes its bug, CTDs happened to me too after hit clemson w/ torp, deck gun, or even hull. So dont attack clemson in middle of 1942 if its part leading the task force or convoy. I believe it part of same task force bug which should be called large convoy coming from Sydney Canada. I just avoid clemson, only fired torps at juciy targets like tankers, troop transports, then dive and get away. Sometimes I go around front of convoy to sink some more ships or attack next incoming convoy. I believe this bug will last maybe a year at least in this game.

Although I haven't tried this yet, I've seen others talk about this same bug about the Clemson before. There was never a resolution that I knew of.

Could be worse ... this could happen when going after a certain merchant.

when the convoy showed up, all the C2 cargos I saw were low in the water... well, most of the ships were as well.

Only took 1 hit (anywhere) and they sunk

so it's the same date, same convoy... can we alert ubi to fix this?

so you must either: avoid convoy, or try to hit all around it, like I did, after 5 attempts - luckily the last attempt, he didnt come after me

Did you try evading instead of attacking? I almost never attack an escort unless I'm in real trouble near the surface. Of course I've gotten into real trouble at 150 meters too, but I won't be firing anything from down there.

As soon as you complete your attack on merchants, dive. Go down as deep as you dare to aid in your escape. If you are detected, you're already down there and have more time to avoid DCs.
