Ya know I totally agree with that statement but what amazes me is the ding dong kids and gangs whoever who seem to use it as an excuse to go nutz...Of course the proper and American thing to do would to have staged a similar counter protest or whatever, instead of sinking below the lvl of the Nazi guys...Only in America can you have so much diversity... I don't care for what they have to say. And I'm not sure the mayor is completely correct, because "disturbing the peace" covers all kinds of stuff, including having your stereo too loud in your own home, your dog barking all night long in your own backyard. These guys were walking down the street, yelling racial insults. If that's not god damn disturbing the peace, I'm not sure what is.

"Disturbing the peace" aside, I absolutely agree with the mayor. Freedom of speech means the King George won't chuck you in a prison using a lettre de cachet, and forget about you. It doesn't mean your employer won't fire you for "conduct unbecomming an employee of Microsoft". It means you won't go to prison, and that's as far as it extends. Regardless of the reprehensibility of their message, that's part of speech freedom, unless they were advocating violence (we're going to kill all you <plural version of a black racial slur>).

So. I don't agree with what they were doing. I'm not sure why the mayor didn't have them arrested for "disturbing the peace". However, the response to the Nazi's "protest" shows the underlying social problems in Toledo, specifically the racial aggression toward "whites" in the area.

Sad thing is, the protestors did exactly what the Neo-Nazis say they do. Actions speak far louder than words, hence why the neo's didn't even bother to rally/talk.

The Freedom of Speech issue will be a source of conflict for decades to come. No matter how reprehensible the message was by the Neo-Nazis, they had the right to march on city property...just as the local NAACP has that right also. I had a friend of mine fired from his job because he posted on a blog his displeasure with another co-worker that kisses a$$ at work, that he didn't even name, but since everyone knows who it is they didn't need the name posted. I was repremanded at work myself because I told someone in personel "your insurance plan is a krock and maybe if I file a greivance something will get done." The irony is that the second part of the sentence was in my repremand.

Also, my employer has an "open door" policy that was addressed in our latest newsletter. A fellow employee was wondering if we had an open door policy why are people disciplined, or lashed at, for going to higher levels of management? The VP of Personell defended the open door policy that it works, however, "you still need to go thru your chain of command"...in essence telling you the open door policy was null and void.

The bar/gas station and it's owners got hit because that's where the punks were.

I find myself agreeing to your statement and im brown skin lol, i got part maori and white blood in me, here in New Zealand my ancestors were the maoris the first people to come to this country 2000 yrs ago from i believe we originaled from Asia! Well the mori hori tribes were the first to come to New Zealand but we maoris killed them off and even ate some of them. Then in the 1700's the british arrive Captain Cook was his name a good chap yet made the mistake of pissing a maori leader off so we killed him and threw him on the Hangi (stove) and ate him as well. Yes we had a taste for humans back then, we were a warrior race with facial tatoos as our trademark and a war dance that was suppose to scare the **** out of the Pakeha (white stranger) But they the Pakeha raised there muskets and shot at us which made us maoris go back to our bunkers and ask ourselfs what the F**k do we do now. Oh yes the Maori were the first to design the bunker, during the colonial wars (Maori tribes verses British), The british were amazed at our war tactics one of them being what the pom called The Bunker. Thus In WW1 the bunker was invented. Those colonial wars was in the 1800's. Now jump to 2005 and we have here in New Zealand two laws? Practically. One for Maori and one for Pakeha (white Stranger) This two law sucks for the Pakeha. And alot of us maoris dont even agree with it! For instance if a pakeha puts down a maori its is called racisism its on the news its in the papers you name it. If a maori puts down a white its OK. I see it alot and am ashamed that it comes to this. There should be one law for all like it use to be here. This is what our National govenment ( no ties with nazi movements) tried to bring out but lost the election recently this year.
What really really pisses me off is one of the maori leaders got to the media and said on television that what happened to the Jews during WW2 the same happened to the Maori during the colonial wars. RUBBISH. If the British did the same thing as what the nazis did to the Jews we the Maori wouldn't exist today. They would of wiped us out. There was only around 100,000 of us back then. Total crap and an insult to the Jews.
We maori all we ask is for some of our land back that was taken of us during the colonial war. Which the govenments are doing, but we didn't ask for the white man to bend over backwards for us and nail the first nail into the white mans coffin. This is what they are doing. lol, while im on the topic we loved war so much that during the colonial war wherever there was a break in the battle against the British the maori ceif use to choose a few of his best warriors to head over to the enemy side and give them food. Why becasue we wanted them to keep there strength so they would put up a good fight against us. :D

I believe there are some projected birth rate studies which say that whites will be a minority in the US within 20 years or so.
