Ive had some crash problems with the crew screen, so now I save every 30min incase of a CTD

Why not just do what I do, and never touch those damn buttons????? I just surface and hit 1 or 2 for ahead slow or ahead 1/3....or change the telegraph to individual knots, and set your speed.

After reading SO many posts of people getting the CTD using those shortcuts, it's amazing people still use them.

I have been playing SH3 from the day it was released, and have never had a CTD (knock knock knock)...but then, I never use those buttons.....

I've read about this problem numerous times and I can say I have never had that happen. I can press those quick buttons any time, all the time and never get a CTD. My game is also very heavily modded.

Btw, save quite often. You never know with this game. I probably save every 10 minutes or so.

My game is also modded and I,ve never had that problem. Neither with a clean install.

Same here..I have never had a CTD from the crew management buttons..and I use them regularly. And my game too is heavily modded.

Only time I have ever had CTD's was from my own fault when installing mods that ended up conflicting.

The same thing happens to me every now and then. I have of course stopped using the damned shortcut button, but sometimes I just forget... then it happens about 30-50% of the time. I hate it.

Ah, so it's not just me. :hmm:

I also had a few CTD's when using the surface cruise button. Now I never use the buttons and I save often, especially after every ship that I've sunk.

This has happened to me on a couple of occasions, needless to say I'm wary of any of the 'crew management' buttons now...

The surface cruise button CTD is the only problem I ever have SH3, and the chances of it causeing a crash is directly proportional to how long it's been since I've saved. Not kidding.

Sat., I played for a couple of hours getting chased by a destroyer who seemed to be able to find me no matter where I was, finally made it to deep water and escaped, came up for air and hit the surface cruise button, and CTD.

The rest of Saturday, and all day Sunday, I saved the game before hitting any of those crew management shortcuts, and no crashes whatsoever...

The only button i touch is Damage control. and i leave all other buttons

alone. (refering to crew management). otherwise no problems.

I've had that problem also.....right at the end of a 80k tonnage sunk patrol, no save game. :damn: :damn: :damn:
Now I just move my crew around manually...
I'll never touch those buttons again.

We now know how to disable those buttons.

Lets face it, when under attack I try not to mess with them but habit takes over or panic and I always end up hitting one or two.

I have just tested the game without their use and to me its so much more immersive.

Keep an eye out for Hollywood 5 finnished versions. Its in its second beta test but I suspect will be done quite soon.
