why do you only see axis ships when you are near axis ports..but never in the middle of the ocean.?

to ensure that us clumsy, arm-chair u-boote skippers don't sink any of Herr Fuerher's merchant fleet.

Ok seriously though...i have enoutered a few axis merchants and warships on the high seas (even sunk a few :damn: ). Thoug i don't see nearly as many of them, and those mostly up by norway.

Umm because there weren't many during the war? The blockade runners, merchant raiders etc. were hunted down...the surface fleet pretty much stuck to norway and the Baltic after the Bismarck thing in 41 and Channel Dash early 42. Med a different matter, though here the Italian bbs (which we don't have in SH3 anyway) stayed in port for lack of fuel. The smaller vessels were busy though.

I would say differently....It may not be realistic but hey, under different circumstances it might have been. See this thread...http://www.subsim.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=44051

Oh I saw that. Yea the Med is different. I don't know if the Ops mod added surface raiders (warships or the merchant raiders) or blockade runners. I DO know that Rubinin at one time put in the Bismarck op (Rheinbung?) and Sprotpalast a Tirpitz sortie, and now the milk cows. Still bound to be rare just cause the Allies had many more ships. :nope: Damn Tommies!

There are axis merchant raiders swimming about alone in the far reaches of the ocean for a while. Look in the SCR layer, with the editor, you'll see them...
