This is my first real boat from my time in the Royal Navy.

It is HMS Keddleston and you can identify her as a mine hunter from the Tiger Tail on top of the bridge. Her funnel badge is showing her as belonging to the 3rd MCM Sqdn operating out of Portland, England.

I served on her later when she was transferred to Fishery Protection operating out of HMS Lochinvar, Scotland.

Great ship. Great times.

Who took the picture (not names, but like a helo pilot, or someone on another boat, I don't think we know the same people, except maybe Dave from Canada), and how was it taken? It's beautiful.

I once new a guy who was posted on an American mine sweeper. he was telling me that fastest they normaly clipped along was like 2knts or something in that area.

Really that is a cool boat. I have also wanted to serve on a mine sweeper or an ice breaker. Well, or a DD or a CA or a CV or a BB or a well just about anything with a keel and in the aqua.

And this is my first "Stone Frigate" where I joined up as a boy sailor.

I climbed to the top on three occasions and sat on the top but could never must the courage to stand. Thats why I tried three times.

Embarrasing because someone trying it would draw a crowd.

Anybody recognise the place?
