RuB 1.44 problems

I've installed this fine mod yesterday using the generic mod enabler. Once enabled, I found that SHIII will not start. When I double click on the icon, all I get is a black screen, no sound, no visual. I'd really like to use it, but I only have one question about it : will it force me to do manual targeting (timing targets etc...) or can I switch between manual and auto (what I'm doing now)?

It sounds strange, did you play RUb 1.43 without any problems earlier?
I'm proud to be Polish very much too. :D

Odd yes black screen I am not familar with.

So the program does not load at all? RUb should have no effect on that - but I have seen CTD if you have other mods installed.

Are you using the Jones Mod Manager?

Regarding targeting I have no troubles alternating.

Affirmative. I have the Jones mod manager and I've got the following enabled :

SH Harbour Mod 2
Uniform Mod V.2

Both mods came from realsimulations.net, and the program won't run. I've also got the Internal life mod, and I'm going to try running it again after this post and I'll post the most recent results.

UPDATE : I've disabled all previous mods and it still won't run. I have 1.4b but I haven't installed any previous versions of RUb.

:hmm: Got me on this one never had a total failure (black screen, no sound...)

Had some CTD but that been it. Did note that nothing short of full reinstall seemed to work for me - but maybe something would work for you. Only thing I did was uninstall all mods, patches and even SH3 - yeah a real pain but re-installed SH3, SH3 patch then Jones, then I went to gather up patches and installed them first RUb, then IUB(beta), then some eye candy stuff like skins for boat and crew Pascal's(?).

Not much help to ya I know but for me its always back to the drawing board these UOP can be sensitive I bet and leave files around that conflict.

Only other thing my simple mind can think of is a corrupt patch download or very outside chance of a conflict issue that has started recently with hardware or drivers - that is why I do the flush out of the ol' SH3 and rebuild; it rules out the hardware stuff if I can get SH3 basic package to start & since then (that flush) about four months ago nary a prob...

and if we bump this maybe Beery and crew will see your signal for help.... :ping:

Something similiar happened to me awhile ago-not RUB related.
Save your mods in a seperate folder.
Do a complete uninstall of SHIII.
Delete the SHIII folder in your program files.
Reinstall SHIII.
Start the virgin game to make sure its working-if ok then:
Install the latest patch.
start the game-if ok then:
Install RUB.
start the game-if ok then:
Install one mod at a time.
This is simply a process of elimination.
Keep going until something bad happens, if it does then backup.

I've done this so often I lost count.
when you have 20+ mods running sometimes things go sideways.

I'm going to try the fresh install of SH, I have disabled all of my mods, and from a clean install (but without re-install) of SH, it will not work. I'm really hoping it works! Thanks for the help!
