How Many Play On A LAN?

how many people play SH3 on a LAN as opposed to the internet?

the manual says it supports up to 8 players on a LAN and i was wondering if anyone has played it that way, and what was their experiences...

One of my friends comes over to my house once in a while where we play SH3 together over the LAN. We both have a decent computer and didn't experience any lags...but of course it was only the two of us playing. Unfortunately none of my other computer friends is into sub sims :-(

I usually play Lan as much as i can, i prefer it than internet play. But i have to bribe my 14yr old to play it with me, he hates submarine games and i can't really blame him, i use to punish him by making him play a game of SH2 with me believe me to him it was a punishment , but to me i never tired of it, so the punishments were often ;-) . Now with SH3 it gets even badder! one mistake and its Right your playing a mission with me tonight! hehe Actually im starting to notice a change comin over him, hes more in control when he plays and starts recommending when or how we should attack etc.., i think he likes SH3 but doesn't want to admitt defeat. :)

With LAN you got no worries about viruses, high pings, accidental torpedo attacks on friendies, your gun crew set to auto so therefore attacking the first thing they see which usually is another sub! Theres no Lagg sometimes though if we play a mission where theres planes we get lag so avoid them unless u got high speed network cards. And also you can have your own competitions highest tonnage etc.,
