hi,

I think i read somewhere, that if you enter port and have crew, espicially officers in the "damage repair team" section on the crew screen - they may disappear, the solution was to take you repair team back into the rest of the boat b4 docking.

Hope this helps

Perhaps he ran off after those girls who are reportedly writing "Otto, Otto" on the chalkboard...

Yes, it is important that you remember to do this.

Codmander, I knew Otto when he was a merchant seaman.....he was a dependable mate....unless he found, swindled, cajoled or made his own alcohol.....he would often dissapear for days at a time......my guess is that while on the repair crew he figured out a way to distill some cleaning fluid or lubricating fluid.....check your torpedo tubes, he may just be sleeping one off.

I feel your pain. I'm in '43 in my IID and I just lost 2 torpedo loaders, both radio guys and the medic. That leaves my with a torpedo officer (but he's the watchman too...), no medic, and very little hydrophone/radar skills :(
Ironicly the medic was the first to be injured and die

The real bugger of this is that after you lost the officer/crew, they still count in your crew manifest! So you end up with a "ghost" on your ship and worse yet, if you already hit the officer/crew limit, this ghost now scares away any hopeful recruit to be under you command.
