1.4b patch sais its name is 1.3???

I tried installing the 1.4b EMEA DVD patch, but I start it it asks me if I want to update to V1.3!!!

Is this a glitch or did I download the wrong patch! (I followed the link from the SH website and dled of UBIs servers-TWICE, BTW)

You can install it, it´s a known bug that 1.4b says that it´s 1.3.

They made a mistake I think, apparently it is the 1.4 patch.

Maybe it's just me but:
"This program allows you to update US DVD v1.0 to v1.3 on your hard drive."
means: this program will update SH3 v1.0, 1.2, and 1.3 that is already located on your hard drive. But it's probably just me ;)

Yep its a well known bug, Apollo. Don't worry about it, you get 1.4b.

More or less what I was thinking, how long would it take to fix a simple bug like that? 5 minutes?

And yet the error still exists after the patch has been up for ages.

The devs meant to say "This patch updates every previous version of the game", but their command of English was so poor that they thought that what they wrote said what they wanted it to mean. It doesn't. When we were playtesting the 1.4b patch, we tried to get them to change it, but they didn't understand what the problem was, and/or they thought it was good enough as it was.
