View Full Version : Destroyed flak gun and deck gun out of harbor?

I'm just starting my 7th patrol and as soon as I start the mission, I get the message that both my deckgun and my AA gun have been destroyed. I looked around the forum, but didn't find a solution for the problem. I have no gameplay mods installed, only visual stuff. Any idea what might be causing the problem?

What type of sub are you using, a Type VIIB/C U-boat? What harbor/port are you departing from? Have you tried taking a look in external view when this happens? To see if maybe you are hitting something while in the sub pen.

With answers to those questions someone else will probably have a good idea of what is happening. It may be a game bug!

No idea what's up with that. Perhaps try returning to base and starting your next mission to see if it happens again.

I'm using a VII/B, I don't move so I can't be hitting anything. The mission instantly gives me that message. I'm departing from Kiel base, around April 1940. I've played two patrols since, each time the deckgun and flak are destroyed upon start of the mission.

This is really frustrating. I had a couple of half dead merchants and no torpedos where I could have used a deckgun :(

Any help you guys can give me would be very much appreciated.

On an unrelated note, anyone know any decent skins for the B variant? I've seen some good C variant skins but nothing for the B variant. Or can I somehow use them on the B variant as well?

What patch are you using and which mods have you installed?

Very little in the way of mods, just a skin for torpedos and one for the VII sub, I think anyway. Certainly nothing related to gameplay. I'm using v1.4b

Try removing the Sub skin and see if that helps....

Is your deck-gun visible in external view, I removed mine and added more torpedoes and a little more speed, I get that message but my guns don't show?
If you haven't done that mod and the guns still show then I don't know, sorry.
