The I-179 was raised after the war in 1957.
i have read that it was used for triels (experimental uses) by the JMSDF anybody know what happened after that?

As a result of investigating many things, the situation after I-179 was raised was not found.

Although you may already know, the information which I have is described below.

I-179 was ordered from the "Kawasaki jyuko kobe shipyard" as the No. 157 warship of a "kaioo VII type submarine.(I-176 class submarine)"

I-179 was completed on June 18, 1943.

It was included in the 11th diving squadron of the 1st fleet.

It is engaged in training after departing from Kure on July 9 in Iyo Nada of the Kunisaki peninsula east.

the news after carrying out radio contact on July 14 -- it became unknown.

(In the accident of a front part open valve, it flooded and sank and all 85 crew members were killed.) A sinking position becomes clear on June 19.

Hokusei vessel industry will float and dissolve in July, 1954 or March, 1957.

The captain of a warship is the Hiroshi Yuasa (major).

色々調べた結果、Ｉ－１７９が引き上げされた後の状況は、判りませんでした。
既に知っているかもしれませんが、私が持っている情報は、以下に記述します。

Ｉ－１７９は、「海大Ⅶ型潜水艦(伊-176級)」の第１５７番艦として、川崎重工神戸造船所へ発注された。
Ｉ－１７９は、１９４３年６月１８日に竣工。
第１艦隊第１１潜水戦隊に編入。
７月９日に呉を出港後、国東半島東方の伊予灘で訓練に従事。
７月１４日に無線連絡をした後、消息不明。
（前部開放弁の事故により、浸水・沈没し、乗員８５名全員が死亡。）６月１９日に沈没位置が判 明。
１９５４年７月または、１９５７年３月に北星船舶工業（東京）が浮揚し、解体。
艦長は湯浅弘（少佐）。
