Andrea,
After it loads, do you mean it crashes when you are loading a mission or going in to a campaign, if it is when loading a mission then do other missions load OK, tell us a bit more if you can?
BTW welcome to the forum. :)

Hehe Friggin' in the Riggin'
Had a similar problem when trying to play the campaign with the first version of the game straight from the DVD install. The problem dissapeared as soon as I installed the first patch.
Maybe that'll work for you too.
Good luck !

You told us your system specs but not any patches or mods you
have installed. They can make a big difference....

has it ever worked? You have Windows XP? Try System Restore if it has worked in the past and go back to that point in time. I have they idea that there is a chance that spyware can corrupt your PC. Go to MajorGeeks.com and look for x-cleaner. I think it works the best and dosen't need an installation.

Hi,
I'm running a system very similar to yours and had instant CTDs as soon as I started a career (but not in training/single missions (strangely) and it wasn't until I was aware - through this forum - that patchs were available. I went staright to 1.4 and the game only rarely CTDs now. If you haven't already done so and as all mentioned above install the 1.4 patch.

Andera-Jayne, do you have any room for an extra crewman? I would love to sail with you.

It sounds like it is graphics-card or memory related to me but like someone said earlier, we probably need more information in order to help you more! :hmm:
You might want to provide us feedback or check the following:
1. Did you buy the game on DVD or download?
2. What (version) graphics drivers are you using?
3. Do any other installed programs 'crash to desk top'?
4. Is your boyfriend pulling the plug on your PC?
5. Try a complete uninstall and reinstall....
6. Have you any (TSR) programs running in the background?
.................................................. ......................
1 - Above: Check for scratches etc! could be a bad DVD?
2 - Above: Download/install the latest ATI Drivers.
3 - Above: Would indicate a bad RAM Stick!
4 - Above: Dump him (or buy him a game-cube!)
5 - Above: Sometimes this works - but before you play d/l
and install the 1.4b patch and then try to run the game!
6 - Above: google search/download 'Enditall' which will permit you to close all but necessary background tasks

My guess would entail 1.Updating or rolling back video drivers 2.Turning down your hardware sound accelleration level in the DXdiagnostic. 3.Check to see if you having matching ram (brand/speed/budget ram or performance ram?). 4. Keep us updated on your progress/diagnosis.
