I installed RUB because it was a one stop shop for the "must have" realism mods and fixes. I've done four patrols thus far, and I'm now in mid-1942. All I can say that so far my encounters with convoys have been profitable, but the enemy response seems worse now that it did pre-RUB and in 1941.

There is almost no real effort to search for me, depth charges are deployed far away, and rarely, if ever do I get pinged and hunted. In other words, it's been a turkey shoot. Little if any aircraft bothering me, and convoys with multiple escorts, but only one destroyer bothers to see whats going on.

Are other people having the same experiences? Seems like it's much easier than before.

Also depends on the realism setting. ;)

It's not supposed to be harder. It's supposed to be more realistic. Until 1942 the U-boats had it all their own way. It's supposed to be easier during this time period. That's why most of the top scorers made their scores in 1939-41.

Realism and difficulty are two different things. Players will definitely find that RUb is easier overall than the standard game. Real life was easier too.
