View Full Version : Any way to save a career prior to reinstalling?

Well, I've modded carelessly and paid the price.

I installed a mod that was designed to extract to a default path and I have a non-standard installation. I thought I was clever enough to compensate (I manually moved the files to what seemed to be the appropriate place), but now my game won't start, even after replacing the mod files with originals supplied by the modder.
:damn:
I was awfully happy with the state of my virtual world: 1943, Type IXC, great, accomplished crew... is there any saving them now that it appears I have to do a re-install? I had an otherwise unmodded installation with the latest patch. If anyone knows the files and/or folders to save in order to pick up where I left off with a clean install, I'd be mighty grateful for that info.

Suffice to say: God Bless the modders who design with the JoneSoft installer in mind. I'd used it to "try on" other mods and it worked like a charm.

TIA

Try to save your SH3 folder in "My Documents" by copying it and
renaming. Then delete the old stuff and re-install the game.
You might lose some of the medals and such but your saves
should still be there after you rename the folder back....
