How does the grammaphone pick what songs to play? I got about 150 in my folder yet I only hear a few... is this editable or do I need to rename the songs with some sort of numerical designation?

Download the Randomizer mod from Real Uboat. Really good if you have large numbers of tracks. It comprises of two vbs scripts that reside in your main sh3 directory. The first assisgns numbers to the front of each track.
When you want the folder randomised just run the second script and it resorts them. Then run SH3.

That's good to know, thanks! I've got a ton of gramophone files, all of 'em play, but ALWAYS in the same order. Gets old afer awhile, I usually skip forward or back a dozen times just for a little variety.

I thought about writing a VB program to do that but if there's already one written I won't waste the time :) Got a link?

Or you can get it here. Loads of other great mods. I recommend the Camera mod and run it at Low FOV.

um, that's a great link with lots-o-mods, but... I have no idea what each of the mods do! It would be nice to have a brief description by each.

Maybe I'm getting confused in my old age, but as far as I'm aware, there is no such mod in Real U-boat. There's a randomizer in SH3 Commander, but there are no separate scripts for it.

The one I listed let you randomize before you set sail, not in-flight... so if you want a new set of songs, you run the script to rename the files, copy the new songs into the gram folder, and then enjoy the new selection.

Maybe Ubi can add a randomizer into the next patch?
