Can anyone offer advice on the effective use f these torpedoes? I am in early 1942 with a VIIB, and the couple times I have tried to use these passive homong torps, I have had unpredictable results. For instance, I had a nice passenger liner in my sights in a convoy west of Ireland, set the 13.6m for an under the keel shot, lined up almost 90 AOB. Let loose around 1100 yards, and the torp got half way there and starting chasing a Coastal merchie. Ran around harmlessly at too deep a depth to hit anything, just kept shifting from one target to the next. Didn't get a second chance either, as the skies soon filled with bombers and the destroyers jumped all over me when a normal G-7e fish hit a tanker. Thanks for any help

The best use I have found is to use it at its default depth (4m) and use it to Slow down fast targets (between10-20knts) that u dont want getting away.
IE: U have a convoy with say 2 x C3's and a T3 plus a Liner. The rest of the convoy are smaller ships of the coastal type. Approuch the convoy from the rear and at around 600m fire the TIV/TV at the main ships stated above. They SHOULD lock onto those bigger ships only (due to the louder noise) and destroy the props, leaving u to pick them off at ur leisuer. They are also good at picking off FAST approuching DD's/DE's that get to close to u. Just remember NOT to go above 10Knts ur self or dive below 15m at least.

G7-es what version ? I use TXI-G7es from late 44 to the end of war and I can't fault them they hardly miss. They may miss the target you aimed for but 90% of the time they will hit something.
