I was sailing my new XXI U-boat when I encountered a British destroyer and hit it with an acoustic torpedo. It blew off one of its propellers and jammed its rudder. The destroyer came to a complete stop, so I lined it up at a 90-degree AOB and fired a steam torpedo at it and it went from zero to ten knots in about one second. The torpedo went on behind it without hitting a thing. :hulk: How is that a damaged destroyer with only one propeller can go from zero to ten knots in about one second and evade a torpedo coming at it at 40 knots? :-?

If its rudder was jammed/locked then if it went full power on the useable screw then that could probably ruin your shot as it would not only accelerate but turn.

it jammed straight.

The acceleration settings of all ships are far far higher than they were in reality, probably because the AI in SH3 is so useless - they have to be able to stop and reverse in a few seconds in order to avoid ramming the wrong ships and so on.
