I just finished a patrol and one of my seaman where wounded during the patrol. For suck i was given a wound medal yet it will not let me give it to the seaman. When i first click on him it says behind his name "was wounded in last patrol" though as soon as i drag the metal into his description box it tells me that he wasnt wounded in the last patrol. I've checked several times and its the same guy. Anyone know what going on?

I had the same problem. Next time it happened, I had 2 wounded - the first received his medal just fine, the second had the same problem again.
I never have wounded men.
On my boat your either tip top or your dead.
And normally if a few people get killed, the whole boat will follow shortly after.

All my dead and wounded crewman so far have been due to machine-gun fire from aircraft or close hits by bombs or guns while still on deck. After the crash dive, things might well return to normal soon.

Yeah i loose alot of men to airplanes as well or at least i used to (used to always fight them though now i just dive and do night runs. since im still in 1939 it still works really nicely.)
Do any of you know what the wounded medal actualy does statisticaly (if anything)

I've had a wounded crewmember just once, but I wasn't given the stinking badge at all :shifty:

For the longest time, I didn't have any casualities on my patrol. That is until last week. I was chasing a ship through very heavy seas and steady rain, when I lost contact. I surfaced and decided to post lookouts and see if I could spot him as I knew that he was very close. Whilst on the surface, I was rammed (run-over) by an American Liberty Ship (Nov 1939) as the visibility was down to less than 300metres. :damn: This ended up killing 2 of my crew (including my medic) and wounding another crew-man. I finally got to award the wounded in action medal to that crewman as I could not heal him with my dead medic! I didn't have any problems awarding the medal luckily, but now I have to train 2 new WO's.

What the heck was a Liberty Ship doing in Nov 1939?? Were you perchance in the Bermuda Triangle, or maybe near Philadelphia during the experiment or something?

I've heard that you can't let a medic heal the injured crewman before you return to base otherwise he will not be eligilble for the wound badge thing. That means that you mustn't keep the medic and the wounded man in the same resting compartment together...

Well, that's not nice! I guess I could just edit that .cfg file, but then I'd have to remember the names of the injured to avoid awarding it to the wrong guys. Sigh, a u-boat commander's work is never done

I've got two u-boat medals that I cannot give to anybody. I started with 7 or so, and gave those out, but I can't even drag those last two medals out. If I just click on it, it highlights those that do not have one yet, and those two medals are allways there after every patrol....

You are correct Kissaki... A U-boat commander's work is never done. :ping:
It IS worth it to edit the .cfg file though... I mean if I got a bullet in the butt... I'd want my wound badge lol.

That reminds me... how come I can't get the wound badge? By which I mean, how come I can't get wounded? I'm on the u-boat, same as my crew. If I happen to be on the bridge during an air attack, shouldn't I be running the same risks as the other guys on the bridge? Good incentive for u-boat commanders to hide below decks, I'd say. ;)
