A Good Night (Pic's Included)

Hey all,

Just continued my Patrol 5 tonight and it ended up being a lot of fun. I had already went to my patrol area and completed the patrol with no luck of finding any ships. I decided to take a new route that might lead me to some action by going through the North Channel of the UK. As I began to enter it I got a report of a large convoy infront of me. Dispite my best efforts to catch up to the convoy undetected I only managed to sink the convoys rear destroyer. My battery was getting low and the convoy had a lot of protection so I did'nt want to risk it. Sad to let all those ships go. :nope:

Anyway I decided to do a 180 and head out of the channel because I needed to recharge my batterys. By the time I reach the North Atlantic just before dark my watchman sights a ship in the distance. I dive to parscope depth and begin to close on the target to find its an American C3 Cargo and a Small Merchent. I surface the boat and take them both out with the deck gun nearly useing all the High Explosive ammo I had. I think I should send one of my guys off to school to be a gunner to improve his aim a little :-?

Anyway, I decide to head south and possibly return to home port at Brest but change my mind and decide to do my first Port Raid at Meryer (sp) within the Bristol Channel. I stay surfaced on my way there to charge my batterys to the maximun because I know ill need it, but while doing so I find myself getting attacked by at least 5 aircraft.

I manage to evade the aircraft and surface again later to charge my batterys to the maximun before I reach Meryer. Along the way I spot a small merchent also headed for Meryer that I manage to sink with what little High Explosive ammo I had left for the deck gun.

After the sinking of that ship I finally find myself near Meryer. I crept into the port at ahead slow and rigged for silent running to find 2 docked Small Tankers and 1 docked small merchent like I sank before I reached Meryer. There was another small merchent but was already destroyed, probably by running into the dock. The port was poorly guarded with only a Armed Trawler and a high speed torpedo boat. Needless to say, I had some fun...

Thats about all I had time for tonight, I saved once I safely got away from Meryer and into the Bistol Channel. Hope you enjoyed the pictures.

@ Laughing Swordfish - How do I get such great screenshots? Well lets just say im a big fan on eye candy. After the launch of my torps I watch the action as it happends. When a key moment is going to happen ill watch closely then hit the pause buttion a few times untill I get the right frame I want. :D

@ Gordonmull - Merthyr, thats the name of the port, sorry for the spelling It was late last night and I didnt want to go back into SHIII cause it takes so long to load. Sorry to hear about your loss bro, Ill fire the deckgun a few times on the way home for you. :-?

Anyway, time to check a few more posts then continue with the patrol! :arrgh!:

Completed patrol 5 tonight. On my way out of the bristol channel while rechargeing my boat I managed to sink yet another small tanker.
