Hi all, wondering if anybody with a technical leaning can advise me on this : If I get one of those large screen LCD TV's ( which is currently just a dream !) will I be able to plug in and play SH3 on it ? How does one go about adjusting the resoloutions etc ? Will it look grewat or a bunch of horrible pixels ? .. and whats the best way to plug it all in to a home theater system ? Any ideas would be much appreciated ..

all depends on the lcd tv set itself
if ever it happend to have a dvi connector, you should expect to have connections problems
now, big pixel stuff depends on your card and the width of the screen ...

Search The Community Manual (http://www.communitymanuals.com/shiii/) for "display resolution" to see how you can overcome the 1024x768 barrier. :yep:

I'm not sure about the resolution side of it but I have a TV card on my PC, it also has a SCART socket on it.
I did on one occasion video a few scenes from Flight Sim and it worked OK.
I'm not sure what connections these LCD screens have on them for it to work.

You will want to avoid a PLASMA screen TV if you live at high altitudes (at least anything much higher than sea level). Your TV will wear out much faster.
Here is an article on this very topic:

Personally, I think that the statistics are too optimistic, and that you're going to have problems above 1,500 feet, let alone 5,000 or 6,000 feet, but I present this article as the best-case scenario.

Also, LCD screen refresh rates are SLOWWWWWW. You need faster than 8 millisecond refresh rates to even think about effective gaming with them.

I have a 19" LCD monitor (not TV) with 25ms refresh rate, and games are fine....no ghosting at all.....SH3 looks tremendous on it....

That just means you cant see it well enough.
25 my god. That would be like having mouse curser trail turned on.
Im even weary about buying a 4ms LCD because i dont think they are up to scratch yet.

Thanks for all the info guys.. can I just ask, what is the refresh rate on a normal crt type screen as compared to the figures on an LCD screen ? This is a really interesting topic for me, as I am loath to spend big bucks on a TV that will make SH3 look slow and horrid!!.. also, any suggestions on the best way to hook it all up through a home entertainment amp would be great..I love the idea of all those amazing sounds crashing through my speakers..
