Customizing your boat

Was there a mod that gives you the opportunity to choose your boat and its armament?But does it with historical accuracy with dates and doesnt promote and award you because you have that much renown.I dont personally care for this renown stuff with the sub...I would want a realistic promotion and award system though.. :-?
