Say you have 2 or 3 ships at rest... how do you target, fire, re-target, fire... etc? Are the torpedo's fire and forget?

Yes. Aim, shoot, and line up another target.

Cool  I was reading on having impacts timed for multiple ships... I guess that takes some training... checking out the time on each, and then letting er' rip

Are the torpedo's fire and forget?
The term "Fire And Forget" means that you just lock on to a target and the electronics will do the rest, even if the target takes evasive actions. This is not the case in this sim.

If you are spotted during the torpedo run, the target will probably start zig- zagging, and the torpedo will miss.

So, the answer is "No".

Yeah, you can work out the multiple solutions and fire in order such that ye fire the one that takes the longest to target then fire the next after "x" amount of seconds have passed so that the impacts occur at roughly the same time. Of course you then need to figure the solution for where the second target will be when the first one is impacted to get the acurate time to subtract.
Longest run to target - next longest run to other target = "x"
I don't try to get that exact very often.....got enough of a workload just getting the solutions lol

Whether or not the target is at rest doesn't matter. If the weapon has some sort of automated guidance system, it is "Fire And Forget", if it doesn't, it is not.

Ok, so it looks like the later war eels will have some guidance systems.... I'lll have to look more carefully :o
