Sure! Download this:
http://www.subsim.com/subsim_files/patches/WolfiesTweekPak.rar
Start tweeksh3.exe and set "Land Proximity" to a higher value.
well there is in the main.cfg an entry that stipulates the time excell limit for near land
[TIME COMPRESSION]
TimeStop=0
RealTime=1
LandProximity=8 <=== this fellow :ping:
BUT it doesn't seem to work ...ie it's set as default to limit you to times 8 but for me anyway i usually get limited to times 1 real time..so i doubt if there's anything immediately you can do about it except experiment with routes out of port to see if there's any "quicker" routes ...me i gave up and allways start from St Naz'
:oops: :ping: :hmm:
sorry Gizz' simulateaneous post..the results if you've not had issues with time excell near land after adjusting the entry may turn out to be system specific...RAM etc..? certainly had no success with it here..times 8 is plenty fast enought for me yet i allways get stuck at times 1...

There are two main.cfg, one in mydocuments\sh3\data\cfg and one in sh3\data\cfg. Change it in the first one, then it works.
ok will do ..yup the main cfg in data wa set to times 1 for land proximity..Bergen is a night mare at times one !!
so easy to forget the two sets of main cfgs :oops: :yep:
worth reminding the do it by hand editors (like me lol)!! :lol:
hehe, I applied a request to St. Nazaire, coz I was too lazy to zig-zag out of Lorient. :)

I do as CB says, I set a few way-points to the open sea when I want to get out there quick, but if I'm in the scenery mood I leave it to real time.

I can't see the fuss. I set waypoints all the way out to the bay hit the flank speed key and go off and make a coffee or two. :rock:
