ERROR 1335 'Data11.cab' is corrupt - HELP!! (FIXED)

Performed a clean install after removing SH3 b/c I started getting CTD when missions were initializing. Upon the clean install I received the following message:



Error 1335 - The cabinet file 'Data11.cab' required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD rom, or a problem with this package.

Compaq Evo D300s
P4 1.5 mhz
1 gig RAM
Radeon 9800 Pro

Clean the DVD, then try it again. See if it´s scratched...

Tracked down the code, cleaned the disk and have been at sea for a while since. Thanks!

I'm having the same problem with the data1.cab file. The DVD isn't scratched and it's not dirty. Any ideas? Thanks!

Hello Hobbes, welcome to the forum!

Clean the temp directory (c:\documents and settings\<username>\local settings\temp). If that doesn´t help copy data1.cab to your harddisk, if that works you can be at least quite sure that the DVD drive is ok.

i'm installing need for speed prostreet...before the installation complete, it says...

"Error1311.Source file not found :E\Data11.cab.
Verify that the file exists and that you can acces it."

so...what should i do? should i download data11.cab? from what website?
what's the real problem?

type error code into google search - see what it comes up with, might clarify the problem a bit more.
