I've just started to get back into SH3 and have decided to visit every harbour in the game. Has anyone else done this yet? I've done half of them so far, and it's pretty fun, as you never know what is going to be inside, might be from an aircraft carrier down to a lone trawler. But the fun is penetrating the often found screen of destroyers outside then (hopefully) getting back out to sea again. Just wondering about other people's experiences.

I am doing 2 careers at the same time. One of them is a normal one, the other I am a port raider.
I when down to EJ91 last night, I raided Freetown, pased 1 merchant on the way their, got to periscope depth, up scope and found that the port was empty. No traffic at all. Then I just went back home and didn't have any other contacts.
I just visited Bergen in early 1940. The port went red while i was on patrol so i decided to see if i could make them regret their decision.
Not one single ship was there, HOWEVER, on the docks of this supposedly enemy port there were a gaggle of Germans waving at me, even a band playing!

Early on I raided ports on occasion, especially Loch Ewe for its cruiser. On the way to the coast of Africa I also regularly visited Casablanca and Freetown. Found nada. After that I just gave up and hunted at sea. To make an exception to the rule, however, I just visited Curacao. 2 X T2, 1 Small Tanker, 1 Small Merchant and some unknown tanker than sank itself lol. Cosindering Port of Spain and San Fernando next, though the waters seem really shallow there and enemy opposition is already picking up. Maybe I just call it a day and withdraw to the sea.
