Hi guys, I have started a new patrol on August 24 1940, and just as I clicked to start a new patrol I got a message that my base had changed to Brest, ptoblem is the base does not appear on my map.
I am running V1.4, is this going to be a problem ?
Thanks guys.
Bill.
This happened to me also. I just found my way to Brest using the convoy route map, and when I started my next patrol Brest was on the map. I was the only one in port, but it did show up.

Hello,
It's a bug, not being able to see the Brest base, while on patrol and being transferred.
Otoh, Brest becomes operational (I think) around Sept. 1st, 1940.
If you are going to patrol past Sept. 1st, then it 'might' appear on the map?
You could try and save your patrol sometime right after September, then reload your save again, the base might appear then.
If not you'll have to just 'exit patrol' when finished (no docking) but that should work; you should be parked at Brest for the next patrol.

I was able to get Brest to appear by docking at a different port to re-supply.
Upon returning to sea, Brest was on the map.
I didn't pay attention to the date, so I'm not sure if this method requires it to be at least September 1, 1940, as Average Joe was discussing.

Happened to me too. I left Wilhelmshaven and decided I would just go there and dock whether it showed on the map or not, knowing the pens would be there (orders are orders). I saved sometime during the trip (around Sept. 1, 1940), and when I re-loaded, still in transit, I noticed it is now there.

This has just happened to me during my 8th patrol of my second career (my best patrol too... so far one destroyer killed at 4000 metres, a C-3 and a tanker). I think it's Aug 1940 from memory. Was transferred to Brest at start of patrol... but no Brest on map. Might try docking at nearby port as someone has suggested to get Brest back on the map. Thanks for the timely info!
Another way out is to exit & reload back at base before the problem mission, then ask for a transfer, you do get it, start mission & all fixed, it works for me!
Does anyone have a list of what boats are available at which ports?
I hate the gamble of moving bases and hot knowing which has what.
Also, do the French bases disapear twards the end of the war and i have to move back to kiel?

It happened to me too and it was around Aug '40 but as someone advised me; by the 1st of Sept it WILL show-up... worked like a charm!

Ok, good to know for future careers. Thanks for posting the follow-up.

when my base changed to st.nazaire during the patrol (and st.nazaire did not appear on map) I patroled until last torpedo and returned to Kiel.
Then I got mission to go from Kiel to St. Nazaire with patroling grid "NUL" :-) It was on 1.2 PL version without RUB. Mission was counted as next war patrol. I spend some time in AM52, used all torpedos and went to St. Nazaire :)
I have to do few more patrols (I'm just after second patrol) in my new career in 1.4b emea+RUB to check if something changed

I think the game or RUB has certain dates on when the ports
are available after the fall of France. I am now at July, 14, 1940
and only the most southern port is visible. I would imagine the
others will show up when the time comes for them to do so....
