This is what the menu loks like after a fresh install.
I had SH3 previously on this computer without any problems.
Has anyone ever seen/encountered this problem anbd/or knows a solution to get things going as they should?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions/ideas/solution.

Have you updated to the latest video drivers? I've seen problems with games and older drivers in the past similar to that.

Yes I have the latest drivers.

I know this is simple but....
try uninstalling SH3 and delete all its leftover documents. Also delete the SH3 file that is generated in your personal documents...
...and re-install from scratch.
I had a graphic glitch that was persistent after one install and haven't had any probs at all after re-installing SH3.

Kpt. Lehman:
I've just done that and also before reinstalling SH-III defragged.
The problem still persists unfortunatly.
The intro movies are working just fine, but when the game loads the lower part of the screen is filled with sprites. (like before)
I have not tried to start a mission but assume the graphics will be whacked out like the menu and/or loading screen...

The problem is solved; My videocard quit tonight.
Luckily I had another card from the other brand and put it in.
Now SH-III works fine again.
Thanks for all the replies btw; Much appreciated.

I good thing to do when asking advice about graphical glitches in games is to post your video card specs (and whether it's an ATI or NVidia card) and the driver set you're using. With that info, you would have gotten an answer on the first post probably.
I'm still curious... what video card and driver set were you using to have gotten that glitch?

Hello big_feef;
Thanks for the suggestion; I should have thought about that.
Nobody could have known though that my vidcard was about to die... well maybe, by seeing the screenshot or having a nice crystal ball. :)
I had a GF4 Ti4200 8xAGP (drivers 7.7.7.7) and put a Radeon 9200 SE Atlantis in last night. (also updated to latest drivers.)

Crap man, I was also thinking to myself that your video card was dying out when talking to you yesterday, but I guess I never said it, assuming that everything else was working ok.
How does the game play with the 9200?

The ATI9200 works great. Im not unhappy with it at all even though it is - like the GF Ti4200 - and older type card.
