Hello. Is it possible to remove the mod contained in RUB 1.43 that changes the crew fatigue model and return it to stock normalcy? Everything else in RUB is great but with no way for the crew to regain strength my boat is becoming nearly inoperable!
Hi!
Fatigue is managed by variables in the BASIC.CFG file (found in the /data/cfg folder). This file can be edited with a regular text editor such as WordPad.
You several alternatives for restoration. Here are two of them:
1) If you backed up your game before installing RUb, or if you used the Jonesoft Generic Mod Enabler (JSGME), you can copy the original BASIC.CFG file back to its original location.
2) If you didn't back up BASIC.CFG, you can look up the "UnRealUboat" mod, which has stock versions of the original SH3 files for some components of RUb that some folks don't want. You can download UnRealUboat (as well as JSGME) from http://u-boot.realsimulation.com in the "SH3 Downloads" section.
If you decide to use JSGME, I suggest you re-install SH3 (and the V1.4 patch) so that the JSGME will start with a clean slate.
Hope this helps!

You can't just replace the Basic.cfg file. It is more in that file that is modded. I.e when subs become available, torpedoarmament etc.
Better to run a text editorprogram and compare the files and just replace the values for fatigue from stockgame.
Ultra edit 32 is a nice program for this. You can dL it and run a free trial.

Uh oh now I am confused again. So which line in the basic.cfg file allows for crew to regain their strength in the bunks?
Notepad is the best editing program to use.
You need to replace the stats for the seaman to lieut. sr, and the fatigue coefficients.
I have been using RuB 1.43 and I see that the crew can now rest and renew their endurance, so I am happy- the major beef that I had with the original fatigue mod. was that bad weather was being tagged for being a cause of 'combat fatigue'- forcing me to stay under during all bad weather, which is impractical and unrealistic.

that was exactly my problem. You say they regain strength now? I have not noticed. Maybe it's because my crew is still so green.
