I (finally) got my reinstall and RUB 1.43 running. (See: REINSTALL post) Patience....several retrys....and sheer luck. However....starting new career in the Academy my deck gun loaders move (reload) with the speed of a three-toed sloth! Is this normal? I've moved crew on deck gun in an attempt to correct...no joy. At the rate they reload....everyone is over the horizon by about my 10th shot....unless I chase individual ships in all directions....sink one, lose sight of others result: unsat training grade. Comments/suggestions

There are mods that adjust RUbs deck gun load timings, as well as a SubSim thread (http://www.subsim.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=39760) that discusses whether this is realistic or not.

Frogdog....I actually had a Three toed sloth assigned to my deck gun.....I moved him to hydraphones and everyone is much happier!

You may also want to reset the damage back to default values, since you won't be able to sink all of the ships with the reduced deck gun damage in RUb 1.43 even if you do hit them.

do ur men have qualifications in artillery? qualifications help. maybe its ur computer and not the three-toad sloth.

During last week I played RuB 1.43 without having first done any Academy training, thus I started out my career with only the given 500 renown points. (I didn't mind.)

After a career death today, I decided to do some academy training so as to go ahead and boost my initial renown on the next career. I was surprised that I needed only to do one component (in this case, I did Nav training exam) in order to ramp up to the maximum 1500 starting renown.

Many thanks for all responses. Couldn't have been just my computer....its faster than Paris Hilton on party night. I'm not particularily interested in initial renound....I just want max experience for me as I start on my career patrols under RUB 1.43. If my deck gunners are slow as a garbage scow....I'd like to know it prior to engaging in a surface attack and having to pour a crudload of disel through the engines having to chase a C2 to New Y.ork in order to sink it. Thanks for all the comments, observations and suggestions
