I have installed RUb on a fresh install.

- Run an attack on scapa flow. Encountered only aircraft and stationary boast inside scapa (fidji).

- i surface in the middle of scapa, run back, not even a fishing boats.

- Also, look at the weirs screen capture i have donne.



My maps are scrambled (http://www.strategie-fr.net/r/SH3Img@9-8-2005_21.15.44_983.bmp) I hate eggs ... (710Ko)

On that one, i have shot THERTEEN 13 torpedo (http://www.strategie-fr.net/r/SH3Img@9-8-2005_21.28.48_920.bmp) strange for a viiB boat with four tubes .... (710Ko)



Well .... i just don't know. I am thinking od a 7zip problem while decompressing the main file ... ????

Run the bmp files in a photo editor program of some sorts to reduce them to JPG-format. That saves a LOT of size. :D

-Scapa hasn't been touched by RUb I believe. That is all, really. Maybe a minefield somewhere, but I doubt even that. Enemy Harbor Traffic is low priority on the Ops team list at the moment.

If it started there on patrol load, then it may be an Ops-related bug. In which case we need detail there.

Scapa hasn't been touched by RUb I believe. That is all, really. Maybe a minefield somewhere, but I doubt even that. Enemy Harbor Traffic is low priority on the Ops team list at the moment.
In the normal scenario, the fidji is present. Here also ....
The abnormal glich is no patrol nowhere in the world. Gone to gibraltar, loch ewe ... not a pieces of boats. No military, nor even sitting duck t3, not a pieces of convoy ..... only stationary boats.

This has nothing to do with RUb. Common glitch. Most often associated with video memory cough-ups, or using alt-tab. Just right-click on your officers next to the map or alt-tab again, and it will go away.
Before moving to RUb 1.43, had no screen problems, none for maps, none for tdc .....

The upper right city to scapa flow .... memeoty has runn aground too, could not remember name .... this is definitly a RUb city.




I AM DEFINITLY THINKING OF A BAD 7ZIP ACTION.
will redownload, and test it on my second machine with the text command 7zip tool instaed of the 7zip GUIed ...

Hmm, sounds very, very strange. I can assure you that patrols are supposed to be alive and well in RUb 1.43, if a little reduced compared to default SHIII. They will, in fact, be increased in coastal areas quite a bit in future versions, but in a somewhat different and maybe surprising way ;)

Things like harbor patrols are generally scripted - and none of the scripted patrols have been affected by Ops mod that I know of. So they should be still there, unless you changed the SCR layer, used a non-RUb/Ops one, or it was for some reason corrupted. If you're getting a lot of these unexplainable glitches, I would strongly suggest reinstalling the game and re-downloading RUb.

There's no RUb cities in Scapa Flow, as far as I'm aware. Unless you mean something else, then it's probably one of the default cities.

I can assure you that there's nothing I can possibly think of that would cause graphics glitches like that in RUb. A coincidence maybe? Beery tends to be very thorough with the testing.

As for the 11th - that should be looked into. It's not impossible that the spawn point is off, in which case a hotfix will be on the way soon.

Sorry, i was meaning this city is not present in the fresh offical 1.4b installed games.

Ok.

I hope Beery takes note of this. I'll try to start up a campaign in the 11th and see what happens.

It's definitely not something that should be happening.

As for the city - it's possible. The method for putting them in is rather tricky and non-visual, so mistakes do happen. If you could give some sort of coordinates for it, that'd help greatly.

By the way, i have multiples folder with for examples
- sh3 + 1.4b regular
- sh3 + modded
- sh3 + RUb

By clickin inside the folder, i can lauch whatever version i want to play ..... and this is working perfectly fine .......

Ive seen the "scrambled maps" bug before. Long before Rub existed.

I get scrambled maps all the time, mods or no mods, patch or no patch. It comes and goes... but it only affects how it looks in the control room.

What ive been getting in the campaign is a lot of NULLS in my patrol objectives. I started a new campaign at Kiel. On my second patrol my objective is NULL? yet i have returned to the right base which is Kiel. My objective states Grid NULL return to Welhemshaven? so i go to welhemshaven and it states return to kiel so i return to kiel and in my objective it states gird NULL return to Welhemshaven!!!! So all im doing is going back and forth!! I disabled the RUB mod and the Commander mod so its just standard 1.4b SH3. I started a new campaign in KIEL and i get the same problem!!!. So i started another campaign and this time started in Welhemshaven and i got no problems so far. Im in patrol 3. But what was that, A BUG? ive only heard of one other having this problem.

Hmm. Sounds like some weird variation of the Savegame bug. It shouldn't have anything to do with RUb/Ops, because the sector assignments are not affected.

By the way, if anyone runs into problems with stuff like new harbors, spawn points, etc. - do report. I'm putting together an RUb hotfix for Bergen shortly, and I can include any other stuff that's amiss.

Note - I said "amiss", as in, wrong with what's already there. No, I'm not gonna start adding enemy harbor traffic or new ports, cause it won't be much of a "hot"fix by the time I'm done :rotfl:

Alright, found a bunch of other more or less minor issues with base markers and spawn points. Official hotfix coming very soon, TBA by Beery.

How's that for quick patching? :up:

I spawned in the middle of the harbour in Bergen on my first RUb 1.43 patrol, but I didn't say anything as I thought it was because I had the 'Harbour mod' enabled. So this is RUb related then?

It's Ops-related, anyway... Had to do with the fact that the bases were re-hashed in the mod, but someone forgot to put a few of them back into proper place (not me! I only fixed them!) :)

Ok. Didn't really mind, though. It was quite cool to see the sub speed along through the buildings with only the conning tower visible above the concrete... :P

Have just finished my first patrol using RUB 1.43 with SH3Comm (2nd patrol of career).

Couple of things came to light.

1. All the static ships at Wilhelmshaven and the aicraft have vanished. There are still a few boats and escorts moving along the channel and the escort at the beginning is still there. :cry:

2. Took a severe pounding from some DDs protecting a convoy and received minor damge to the stern torpedo compartment which was repaired. later I tried to put an officer in there to facilitate loading a tube but could not; got a message saying the compartment was destroyed. However, I could fire a stern torpedo tube and put a number of ratings in there to load the tube. No officer could be placed there. :-?

Regarding the first point, the lack of AI activity is because the harbour mod is not yet implemented into RUb 1.43 like it was in 1.42. We have been promised a Harbour traffic mod that is compatible with RUb 1.43 in a few days though, so hang on.

As for your second point, I have no idea... :hmm:

I have the same problem with the maps being messed up. I think it has something to do with when a mod changes the map file. I added the Convoy Map mod and my ingame maps look like that in the command room.

Same thing for me. I tought this was normal stuff .... for RUb.

Anyway, i must say i am too leasy to use RUb. I am not managing the TDC manually actually. I need more training.

Well, you have the answer for the 1st point already; as for the 2nd point - this seems to be a strange type of bug or just odd behaviour that was in the default game all along. I've heard of this happening on rare occasions, and I assure you I didn't explicitly create that (although I may have unintentionally made it more likely).

In any case - just treat it as battle damage. Something in the compartment got messed-up. It could've happened in the real sub. :)
