but is there one in london or not ?

Nope, where did you get that idea ?

Of course you could organize one.

History has it that at the end of every Intercontinental Meeting people will decided where the next one will be. So show up on this meet and the next one might be in you own back yard :D

Yes Kapitain, there are also meetings in London on 23+24+25 September 2005.
There are probably meetings about submarines during the same period as well, if only just at the Admirality.

But the Third International Subsim & Subclub Meeting will only take place in Monnickendam, a little medieval Dutch village of which the name may become as famous for subsimmers as Waterloo for the Army and Trafalger for the Navy.

So it seems only Dutchies and Neal are attending?
Come on guys, this is supposed to be an international meeting!!!
I understand that Konovalov can't come, because Australia is really far away and the same goes for NZ Wanderer. The Avon Lady - being a real housewife - seems to prefer Tupperware above a visit to Holland and some though discussions about everything, but that leaves 9.997 others who should really respond to Neals invitation unless they have a valid excuse...
Just to help you, the place is in AN 86 (at the extreme right). You can't duck this meeting, because the water is extremely shallow.

I cannot come to Monnickendam due on vocational reasons but could meet the gang if they make the tour on Saturday or Sunday to Bremerhaven, Hamburg(has also a public sub, a russian cold war sub) or Laboe, all these places are just a one/two hours away from here.

At best leave a message in the forums here one day before the tour takes place.

I did some searches beeing cautious not to 'stray' ;)
Nurses.
White stockings. (Aaaaaaagh !!)
Red Boots.
Sharks.
Tooth.

Now mine own nurse  (Wife - not one in a white coat taking me down the corridor !!)
is of a 'careing' disposition so she would go for a handle like ' CarpQueen' or ' CuddlesFuddles' - You get my drift ?

I got to get a psychonalyst on this - ' Ah Doc excuse me, but while youre here ' ;) :-j

Nurse sharks are entirly harmless, if I'm right. If they have teeth at all its that kind of little teeth that most fish seem to have...

Here is the true story, how I became the owner of Florin Boitor’s, executive producer of SH3, lighter case:

I showed up at the meeting with the unique wpl/egl zippo lighter from the subsim club. After I had started a lament that the lighter never has worked properly, Nosferatu examined it and found out that there was no fire stone.
I then borrowed a lighter from Doc and Nosferatu attached Doc’s fire stone into my lighter. Still, the white gas was missing. Because Nosferatu’s car is a diesel, we decided to borrow a little bit of fuel from Drebbel’s car.
Our guerrilla tactic did not succeed because Drebbel’s car was fuel theft protected and so we dediced to organise some fuel the other day.

We then went to the pub where I had a chance to talk to special guest Florin. We soon talked about football (soccer) which is what boys usually talk about. We found out that the world actually is a small place: the former Romanian world -class football player Marcel Raducanu, nickname:”Balkan Maradonna”, is the owner of the indoor football park where I play football each week and sometimes I even see him playing football on the nearby football ground , also I have seen him unloading his car, blowing his nose etc. pp.
However, we later agreed to swap our lighters to renew the old German-Romanian axis of evil. Of course, we were only swapping the lighter casings because my lighter still had no fuel.

Next morning, the first thing people tell me, is that Florin had lost his lighter to which I replied: “No, no, he swapped it with me” and I proudly presented my new lighter without fuel. Swapping and losing is not the same. I did not do the old “swap- the- lighter” trick. When it became clear that Florin was missing the lighter which originally had been mine, I immediately started searching in my pockets, just to make sure that I don’t own 2 lighters all of a sudden. Florin retrieved his lighter later on the day, which was a great relief for me.

To make a long story short: now I legally own a lighter which assembles Florin's, executive producer of SH3, lighter case, Doc’s fire stone, Drebbel’s fuel not and that is actually running because it was reconditioned by LI Nosferatu. :|\

What can I say? Thank you so much, everyone.

“Gute Leute muss man eben haben, gute Leute” (movie: „Das Boot“)

Guess what? The next day Crow gave me a "unique wpl/egl zippo lighter from the subsim club" with a fire stone but without gas, under the condition that I should make a small donation to Subsim.com.
I handed Neal $ 5 on the spot - it was at the restaurant in Kootwijk where we can be seen seated around the table in the sun - and he promptly promised me a new cool avatar - a picture that Horsa took the day before.
Just wait and see...
:D
By the way, Dan D, can have your lighter back at the next meeting, if you want. I don't even smoke...

There is no irony in this posting. We discussed the game at the meeting. The ai movement of the sea gulls is very realistic, almost like real, and as such it s one of the highlights when it comes to details of the game. The developers did an overall great job.

Yes I must add my thanks and appreciation to the guys ( and gals) who helped organise and run this third ( and biggest) subclub meeting ….. Menno, Drebbel, Dargo, Abraham and several others who I’m sure I’ve not mentioned . They picked us up/dropped us off from airports, posted up local knowledge , drove us round, helped us when we got lost, created info sheets for our visits, rearranged itineries to accommodate different wishes, sorted car lifts and generally ran themselves ragged so we could have a good time.

On the Dan D story … it seems he’s not the only one to asset strip poor Florin. When I got home I discovered Florin’s rather smart pen in my top pocket. I had forgotten I’d borrowed it one day to write down email addresses to help notify ppl when my photo gallery web page was up and running. So I too have a “trophy” from the executive producer of the greatest submarine sim ever developed.

Actually I wasn't in Australia. I had moved to the UK by that time but I was actually in Paris on my honeymoon. I did suggest a possible detour of our honeymoon but Avon Lady got it right at the time of that suggestion by saying don't even dare. Avon Lady was right. When I mentioned it jokingly to my wife her response was, "Do you value your life?" I'll just have to wait for the next one I guess. Looking at the photos and so forth it looked like all had a great time. :)

Of course very special thanks to BlueBeard and his Jolanda for putting up with so many crazy subsimmers from all over the world

Also to Neal for founding SubSim&SubClub, and last but not least to Sharkstooth&Panz for generating the first Intercontinental Meeting several years ago.

During the September meet we intended to show a couple of special interviews (WWII, uboot related), from a special DVD the Dutch Gang got their dirty hands on. :arrgh!: It is about 3 hrs of juicy and very interesting material.

But since we where also so busy having fun there was no need and intention to sit in front of the pc and watch a couple of hrs of interview.

So anyone that has attended the meeting, and wants to see the interviews, please send me a PM and I will send the DVD to you by snailmail.
