Was playing a scapa flow attack on a Fiji.
Sunk the Fiji.
After that, lost camara control and gets a lot of freeze sound ...

Post your detailed system specs.
There are a lot of things that can cause visual and sound lag ingame. Lots of ships, landmass and other objects nearby, lots of explosions, etc.
Sometimes the number of objects, especially in a port, are a result of one or more mods. For example, the Friendly Harbour mod definitely adds lag to the beginning of my patrol when I'm in port and I'm either on deck or in external camera view.
It helps to have more RAM at moments like these. A faster graphics adapter also help.
stratege,
I'm basically a newby at this site and have read many postings here before I posted my first post. I have read once that turning down your "sound acceleration" from Full acceleration to Basic acceleration or no acceleration may clear up some of the sound issues within the game. I have tried it and it worked for me. It wouldn't hurt to give this a try.

If you are referring to the external camera using , and . I 'loose control' of that as well in some enemy ports. I think it's in ports with mines, where the camera try to lock on to something that does not exist visually...?
The camera will jump up and down at a tremendous speed, apparently 'locked' on to something that moves like a confused UFO. It goes far under ground sometimes, and high up in the air, and sometimes even 'out of camera bounds'.

Ok,
- it may be a mod lag problem;
- I have read most of the bug reports, none fits ...
- Unfortunatly, no sound acceleration stuff, thanks.
- Specs are:
# Asus k8n-e deluxe v1.02 bios 1010 beta 003
# nvidia nforce 3 250GB
# AMD 754 3000+
# 1 Go DDR pc3200-400 CAS2.5 Kingstone
# Win xp pro sp2
ABout camera, i am talking about the ship camera ...
Still looking ... thanks

What does that mean?
Open up Windows Control Panel. There, open up SOUND & AUDIO.
In the SOUND & AUDIO DEVICE PROPERTIES window, click on the tab marked AUDIO.
From the AUDIO tab pane, the top section should be marked SOUND PLAYBACK. It should have a button in it marked ADVANCED. Click on it.
In the ADVANCED AUDIO PROPERTIES window, click on the PERFORMANCE tab. You should see a slider near the top marked HARDWARE ACCELERATION.
Or did I just waste a lotta pixels? :damn:

Thanks Avon Lady,
i feel so dumb ...
I was thinking of some "accelerator" software like for the creatives drivers.
I have found an acceptable setting modifiying the sound settings, almost one lag per real minutes instead of one per 10 secondes, wich permit me to play now.
Concerning freezing with the screen, i had to use the guru3d latency modifier to drop the number for my nvia 6800gt. Also, had to deseable sideband addressing. No more freezing now.
Concerning camera ( i am talking about the ship camera previous and next unit), every time i get to scapa flow and sunk the fidji (understood the manual setting for torpedos now with fixed target, still need to pratice for moving target) cruiser, i have the ship camera turning crazy, like slopping on side, jumping high and dropping below game layer, or showing message"camara out of bound" ....
UPDATE:
This happend every time i sunk a ship in a base !!!
If i sunk a major warship "at sea", it sank, and the ship camera is fine
..... still need tweaking here.
Might be a pbs between my nvforce3 mobo and my 6800gt

I still suspect this is related to any mines in ernemy ports like I posted above:

The mines are probably modeled in a way that acts them to behave 'strange' to simulate random hits or something. I'm not sure... :hmm: But I'm pretty sure that this is a buglet in the game, and has nothing to do with our hardware.
If you do some more testing you'll probably find that this happens also before you sink any ships in ports. Come to think of it, it happens in ports with coastal batteries/serchlights as well, so I'm not really sure what triggers it.

I gave a try, and did not notice any problems. the camera is running fine, unless i kill the fidji or any major warship in port. Even killing a moving class c destroyer dont screw the camera.
If someoene know the mine fil (not field), i would try to modified mine to something else, like a tangible object, to see what happens ...

Thanks, that would be great if you managed to find a fix for this.
Strange thing about what triggers this though. I'm almost certain that this happened while I was sneaking into Gibraltar before I took out any ships, but I could most definitely be wrong.
Does anyone else have this problem, or are we two the only 'cheaters' here who use the external cam? :P
