Hi guys :D

I have a fairly adequate 3Ghz Dell PC - but for some reason, recently my FPS takes a huge hit when a ship blows up and I'm in periscope view.

When I first got the Dell it had a basic FX5200T in it -- -on reading through the mags a while back, steered me towards the card I have now. But then I was squeezing FPS out of RTCW - BF1942 etc.

Current graphics card is the Gainward FX5900 Ultra golden sample 256Mb

Nvidia 77.30 drivers

any one here expert at squeezing every frame out of a GFX like mine in SH3...

I havnt got the m00lah to buy a new one :-?

thanks in advance

I have a FX5600 with 128 MB, and don't notice your described FPS problem at all. Strange ?!?

I have a 256 mb 6800 ultra running on a 3.2 GHz with 2 GB memory.

Using an enhanced smoke mod...My frame rates drop to under ten when the graphics get intense also in the periscope or Uzo views . Rates remain ok without the mod. You are not alone.

No AA or Aniso other than application controlled.

I figure the smoke mod is worth the brief drop in FPS....so I keep it.

Cuts down your FPS

I have now discovered my prob

As Seminole says -- the enhanced smoke mod is doing this to me in Periscope and Uzo views

Great that enhanced smoke is -- its not vital to my mission -- so I've had to remove it.

thanks guys  you're Über :smug:
